The NCP81255 is a high-performance, low bias current, single-phase voltage regulator with integrated power MOSFETs suitable for supporting a variety of computing applications. The device is capable of delivering up to 14 A of TDC output current on an adjustable output through Intel's proprietary interface. Operation at high switching frequencies up to 1.2 MHz allows the use of small inductors and capacitors. The controller utilizes ON Semiconductor's patented high-performance RPM operation. RPM control maximizes transient response while allowing a smooth transition between discontinuous frequency scaling operation and continuous mode full power operation. The NCP81255 features an ultra-low offset current monitor amplifier with programmable offset compensation for high precision current monitoring.
