The MC7800 series of forward linear voltage regulators are monolithic integrated circuits designed as fixed voltage regulators for local, on-card regulation and many other applications. These regulators feature internal current limiting, high temperature shutdown, and safe area compensation. They are adequately cooled and can deliver over 1.0 A of output current. Although primarily designed as fixed voltage regulators, these devices can be combined with external components for adjustable voltage and current. The linear voltage regulator is also available in an automotive NCV7800 version.
