The NCS2211 is a high performance, low distortion Class A/B audio amplifier that provides 1W of output power to an 8 Ω speaker bridge load (BTL). The NCS2211 delivers 1 W of output power to an 8 Ω speaker bridge load (BTL). The NCS2211 operates over a wide temperature range and is particularly well suited for single-supply voltage operation in portable applications. It offers low distortion performance, with a typical THD + N of 0.2% at 1.0 W, and a shutdown/enable feature that extends battery life. The shutdown/enable feature reduces quiescent current to a maximum of 1 ? The NCS2211 is designed to operate over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range in an 8-lead SOIC encapsulation and a 3x3 mm DFN8 encapsulation. The SOIC encapsulation and the DFN8 encapsulation are pin-compatible with competing devices and offer the same functionality and comparable performance. The DFN8 has a low thermal resistance of 70°C/W and an exposed metal pad for thermal conduction to copper PCB materials. Low distortion, high power, low quiescent current, and small encapsulation make the NCS2211 suitable for applications such as notebook and desktop computers, PDAs, and speaker phones.
