The MC74VHC1GT04 is a single inverting buffer fabricated using a silicon gate CMOS process. It achieves high-speed operation while maintaining low power consumption of CMOS. This internal circuit consists of three stages, including a buffered output that provides high noise immunity and stable output. The device has a low input threshold on the input and a full 5V CMOS level output swing on the output. The input protection circuitry on the device is overvoltage tolerant, thus allowing the device to be used as a logic level translator. The MC74VHC1GT04 input structure provides protection when voltages up to 5.5V are applied regardless of supply voltage, thus enabling the part to be used to interface 1.8/3.3V 3/5V circuits. The output structure also provides protection when VCC = 0V. These input and output structures help prevent device damage due to supply voltage - input/output voltage mismatch, battery backup, hot insertion, etc.
